Hey everyone, I hope you’re having an amazing day today. Today, I’m gonna show you how to make a distinctive dish, baked churros. It is one of my favorites. This time, I will make it a little bit tasty. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Making Homemade Baked Churros is so much easier than you might think. No need to heat up a big pan of messy oil, because this churro dough comes together super easily in a small saucepot on the stove and is then baked off like a sheet of cookies. Similar to making my Choux Pastry, this dough starts by combining water, sugar, and butter in a pot. Traditional churros are strips of dough that are deep fried and rolled in cinnamon and sugar.

The ingredients needed to make Baked Churros:
  1. Prepare 1 puff pastry sheet of
  2. Get 1/2 cup butter melted
  3. Get 1 cup sugar granulated
  4. Take 3 - 4 tsps cinnamon powder

In a large pot add water, butter, sugar and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Carefully place the dough strips onto your parchment-lined baking sheet. While the churros are baking, start getting your butter and cinnamon sugar ready.

Instructions to make Baked Churros:
  1. Preheat the oven to 200c
  2. In a bowl mix together the cinnamon powder and sugar and set aside.
  3. Cut the thawed puff pastry sheet into half, and then cut each half sheet into little strips. They were about 1-inch wide strips.
  4. Place these strips on a baking tray and bake for around 10mins. I had my eye on the oven, once it was golden brown I pulled it out. I had them small and they puffed up into these beautiful pastry sheets.
  5. Brush each puff pastry strip with butter. You can always dip them in a bowl of butter - I just did not want to over do it!!!!
  6. After the puff pastry is brushed with butter, roll it in the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  7. Serve immediately !!! Or just place it on the kitchen counter and stand back and watch your family fight over who gets to eat the most haha…

Carefully place the dough strips onto your parchment-lined baking sheet. While the churros are baking, start getting your butter and cinnamon sugar ready. In the meantime combine the cinnamon (or pumpkin spice) and granulated sugar on a large plate. Once the churros have baked, immediately brush them with melted butter and then dunk into the cinnamon sugar mixture coating all sides. Enjoy all of the cinnamon, sugar and wonderfully buttery flaky layers without having to fry them (and they taste as good as a fried churro!).
